Russia, Iran pledge to aid Hamas

Russia has promised to aid Hamas, breaking with the Unites States and the European Union, which are boycotting the terrorist organization.

It was not immediately clear when the Russian aid would arrive.

Mr. Lavrov has previously said that halting international aid was a mistake although he has urged Hamas to meet the demands of international mediators.

Russia is the only major power to have received Hamas leaders on an official visit since its landslide win in Palestinian parliamentary elections in January.

As I noted in a previous post, the Russians have many motives to aid Hamas.

Yesterday, Iran pledged $50 million in aid for Hamas.

So much for the 'international boycott.'
