'Palestinian police' behind murder of Ido Zoldan HY"D

The IDF announced tonight the arrest of three 'Palestinian policemen' for the murder of Ido Zoldan HY"D the week before last. According to the radio report I heard on the way home from a wedding this evening, two of the 'policemen' were arrested, confessed and implicated the third. Yes, these are the same 'policemen' that the United States is training to handle the 'bad terrorists' from Hamas with the support and approval of the Olmert-Barak-Livni government.
Palestinian policemen were behind the shooting attack last week which killed Ido Zoldan, a 29 year-old father of two from the settlement of Shavei Shomron, the IDF and Shin Bet (Israel Security Agency) revealed Sunday night.

Zoldan was killed last Monday night - the day before the Annapolis summit began - when shots were fired at his car as he drove past the Palestinian village of al-Punduk.

The three members of the cell were Palestinian policemen and members of the Palestinian National Security Force, which Israel and the United States have been investing in as part of the international effort to strengthen Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and his Fatah government.

Defense officials said that the weapon used in the attack was not supplied to the Palestinians by Israel since it did not belong to the official Palestinian security forces. The officials said however that the IDF expected the political echelon to rethink its policy of strengthening Abbas while his policemen were involved in terrorism.

The day after the attack, acting on intelligence, IDF soldiers and Shin Bet operatives raided the village of Kfar Kadum, near al-Pundak and arrested Daper Barham and Abdullah Barahm, both 22-year-old Palestinian policemen and members of Fatah. The third suspect, Fadi Jama, also a policeman, was in Palestinian Police custody.

During their interrogation, the two confessed their involvement in the attack and handed over the weapon used in the shooting to the Shin Bet. They said that they had parked their car on the side of the road and waited for an Israeli car to pass by. Once Zoldan's car appeared, they merged onto the road, passed him up and opened fire. They told their inteoogratos that they decided to carry out the attack to "scare settlers."
A few comments. First, Zoldan was murdered on the night between the 19th and 20th of November, a week before the Annapolis gang rape.

Second, note that the arrests were made the next day but the announcement was held until tonight, presumably so they wouldn't spoil anything at Condi's plantation.

Third, don't expect the corrupt Olmert, the arrogant, pompous Barak or the dimwitted Livni to 'rethink their policy of strengthening Abu Mazen.' Hell will freeze over - or worse, the government will fall and Olmert will go to jail - first.

Update 1:15 AM

DEBKA adds more outrageous detail to this report:
In the northern West Bank, Israel captured two members of the drive-by shooting gang which murdered Ido Zoltan two weeks ago. Both are members of the Palestinian police force from Kaddum village. They used guns from a consignment Israel supplied to the Palestinian Authority as a goodwill gesture for Mahmoud Abbas. [Note that the Post report above said that the guns did not come from Israel. CiJ] Their leader is held by the Palestinian police in Nablus in “protective custody.”
You got that folks, "protective custody." Because Abu Bluff isn't going to arrest ANY of his 'Palestinian people.' When will the government of Israel get that into their thick skulls????

I tell you, when I see stuff like that and then hear people say "There is an apartheid state on the West Bank," I'm very much tempted to say, "Too bad that isn't true."
