Israel Radio: IDF surrounding home of attack planner

Israel Radio is reporting that the IDF has surrounded a home in Bethlehem, which belongs to the person who planned the terror attack at Yeshivat Merkaz HaRav tonight.

They also report that Yitzchak Dadon, who was interviewed last hour, is an IDF officer who lives near the Yeshiva and studied there.

Israeli Arabs were apparently involved in the attack. There was only one terrorist who entered the yeshiva.

There was no specific warning of this attack.

The Jerusalem Post reports that the terrorist was an 'Israeli Arab' from the Jebbel Mukhabar neighborhood in 'east' Jerusalem. He managed to fire 500-600 bullets during the course of 4-10 minutes of shooting.

Carl - Israeli Arabs do speak Hebrew and can pass for a Mizrahi Jew. This was apparently passing himself off as a yeshiva student, which is why he was able to enter the premises undetected. The proverbial wolf among the sheep.

It's not unusual to be an IDF officer in this country- EVERY Israeli citizen at age 18 gets drafted, and is then called back for reserve duty regularly for years afterwards...
