'Jerusalem was ours when Muslims were drinking wine, burying girls alive and worshiping pre-Muslim idols'

Last Wednesday, I posted an account of a debate on Al-Jazzeera's Arabic channel between Bar Ilan University professor Mordechai Kedar and Al-Jazzeera host Jimal Rian. Now - finally - the debate has been posted with English subtitles by Professor Kedar himself (I guess he got tired of waiting for other people to post it). My only bone to pick with his presentation is that he says that God willing there will be a 'Palestinian' state in the 'West Bank' (which he describes as one of two 'Palestinian' states). There already are two 'Palestinian' states - Gaza and Jordan - and God willing there will NEVER be a 'Palestinian' state reichlet in the 'West Bank' Judea and Samaria.

Let's go to the videotape.

What's so rare - and refreshing - about this exchange between Dr Mordechai. Kedar and his Arab interviewer is how forthrightly he defends Israel's position without compunction or apology. He made the point Jews have rights in Jerusalem and in the Land Of Israel and they supersede all Arab claims to it. Its no one else's business Israel is a sovereign state and it needs to be said forcefully Jews have a right to do whatever they want in their country without needing permission from others. Israel certainly does not need it from the Arabs to manage its own affairs.

Yasher Koach to Dr. Kedar for putting the truth out there for the Al Jazeera Arab audience!

I have just finished reading that book of craziness called the Koran. And no where is Jerusalem mentioned. So someone tell me why is it important to Muslims? Their own holy book doesn't ever mention it.

Jerusalem is holy to Jews, it is holy to Christians, but to Muslims it is a reason to steal the City of David from us.

findalis, you can find the explanations from a Muslim point of view by going to islamonline dotnet (not dot com) and searching in the fatwas section for "al-Quds."

(Their case is lame, pretty near nonexistent. And we Christians, for I am one, have no case either.)

The plain fact of the matter is that a muslim in the present day incarnation will steal the milk out of your tea while you're drinking it, and tell you the teacup is the 725th holiest spot in islam at the same time.
There is nothing new under the sun and to think that a "religion" that allows, nay, encourages one to kill, lie, cheat, and steal all in the name of some perverse god is going to negotiate in earnest is a joke.
The correct response to 50 rockets is 500 rockets. It is the only sane response and I don't understand why it wasn't the actual response. I must be stupid.
