Thanksgiving open thread!

Its a secular holiday but its based on the Jewish autumn festivals. The idea is to give thanks to G-d for one's prosperity and good fortune. For from Him, come all of our blessings. And while we bow our heads before Him, we should remember to give thanks every day of the year and our entire lives for looking after us. America set aside such a day since its birth and at this time our joy is tempered with concern for the safety and well-being of those who are less fortunate. May G-d bless all the righteous!

There is actually a Jewish law responsum regarding Thanksgiving from Rabbi Moshe Feinstein zt"l (may the memory of the righteous be blessed) in which he views Thanksgiving quite favorably. Rabbi Feinstein passed away in 1986.
