Building contractors afraid to rebuild Gaza

"It's dangerous going to areas where there is no political authority and where the security situation is shaky."

No kidding.

Who wants to rebuild Gaza if Hamas is only going to burn it down again later?

One would have to be insane to throw away good money after bad in the Hamashole. Even junk bonds produce a better return than putative construction projects in Gaza.

Not to going to happen anytime soon.

NormanF,

Junk bonds provide an excellent return but they're high risk. In Gaza, you have the high risk but non-existent return.

Carl, exactly! Both are high risk investments but in Gaza the return is non-existent. And good businessmen want to see a return on their investment. They are not in it for charity.

It's such a difficult issue. I'm sorry matzav, it's going to take a massive social push change to get building contractors to try and build/rebuild what's been lost.
