Video: Hamas wanted to kill him; Israelis saved his life

This is an interview with a Gazan supporter of the 'good terrorists' from Fatah. The man lost both his legs after being shot with a burst of automatic machine gun fire after Hamas took over the Gaza Strip in June 2007. But years earlier, he was nearly killed in a battle with Israeli soldiers. The contrast is stunning and only now does this Gazan apparently realize the truth.

Let's go to the videotape.

I think if there were more like him in the Arab World, peace would already be at hand. Someday, the Palestinians will wake up and realize Israel is not standing in the path of their destiny. They themselves are the obstacle to it. As long they allow hatred of the Jews to control them, that obstacle will always be there.

Carl,

I can't honestly say I have ever given much thought to this question that is constantly brought up by anti-Israel people, but I frequently hear mentions of IDF soldiers who supposedly started organizations or published "reports" that show how inhumane and uncivilized toward the 'Palestinians' the military is. I never really cared for this because I know, from the things I hear from my dad who served in the IDF, and my cousin who currently serves in the Golani Brigade, that all their claims are completely false.

My question is: Do the ex-IDF soldiers who publish such things that supposedly incriminate the military of being inhumane...are the incidents they cite factual, but simply isolated?

Carl, great video, thanks for posting it.

Isn't if funny that Palestinians have more rights in Israel than they do even in Gaza/W.Bank and other Arab countries where they are mistreated. (Egypt, Jordan, Syria, etc)

Joe,

I don't know for sure. I suspect that most of the incidents have some basis in fact but the descriptions are exaggerated.
