I am an Orthodox Jew - some would even call me 'ultra-Orthodox.' Born in Boston, I was a corporate and securities attorney in New York City for seven years before making aliya to Israel in 1991 (I don't look it but I really am that old :-). I have been happily married to the same woman for thirty-five years, and we have eight children (bli ayin hara) ranging in age from 13 to 33 years and nine grandchildren. Its hypocritical of Israel's government to affirm "never again" and in the same breath negotiate with people who deny it ever happened. At least at Israel is not negotiating with them now. But after you've heard this, why should Israel even accord them the time of day?
Hopenchange, any one?
Only the Palestinians could insist the separation wall be compared to the Jewish ghettos the Nazis constructed. Its funny to hear a senior PA official complain about the sepaate lives led by Jews and Arabs in Israeli cities when the PA itself is Judenrein. And to say Israel is the result of a non-existent Holocaust is the icing on the cake of Palestinian inability to accept Jewish history and culture on its own terms. In their world, reality and truth are inverted. How then, can there ever be a meeting of the minds between the two peoples?
