Senior Israeli security official on the flotilla of fools

I received the following from a senior Israeli security official:
Israel can't afford to risk the lives of our civilians or the possibility that arms will get into Gaza, and we will not let in a flotilla to Gaza purely because of PR.

A blockade is legal only if effective and absolute. You can't have a selective blockade, you can't decide who goes in and who doesn’t. I don’t believe this flotilla is smuggling weapons, but if we do let them in, we won't have any legal basis to maintain the blockade, and it will set a precedent and I'm sure you all know what might get in during the second, third, or fourth flotilla.

No nation outsources its security. As I said before, onboard there can be a lot of places to hide things – compartments, hidden spaces, anything. We don’t intend to give any private company or country the responsibility of our security. If someone wants to oversee the security check with us in Ashdod, we have no problem.

The principle is to try to avoid engagement between the military forces and the activists. We want to avoid putting our soldiers in danger and having to react. However, it is not always preventable. If someone is intent on behaving violently, we will of course respond.
Indeed.

Carl, when I first read your headline, I thought you meant that a senior official was going to ride on the flotilla! OMG! Whew.

Secondly, if the IDF gets their troops smashed up again, I won't be admiring them (i.e., the "Senior Israeli security officials). There has been a lot of time to figure out a way to disable the boats without getting your troops skulls bashed in. TBI sometimes lasts a lifetime. Outsourcing isn't the issue; bringing out the high tech electronics solution or a low tech rope in the propeller solution... or whatever. Last resort (but not letting them through) would be a repeat of last time.

We can only pray Israel's defenseless Defense Minister Ehud Barak isn't sending in again the marines with paintball guns.

Any so-called peace activists and humanitarians on the flotilla are likely to react violently to the sight of Jews.

Israel must give them no quarter and defend its soldiers and citizens regardless of world opinion.

Let's hope they get it right this time around.

Well, American idiots are headed for Greece to join the flotilla of fools aboard the mighty Audacity of Hope, joined by nine sycophantic "journalists" and an unspecified number of self-hating JINOs. Of course, no humanitarian aid at all aboard this merry Yank tug--blockade running for Hamistan pure and simple.

Didn't a ship recently 'dock' in Gaza having been inspected at Alexandria? Isn't that 'outsourcing'?
