Mubarak declared clinically dead

The Middle East News Agency is reporting that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak is clinically dead.
Former President Hosni Mubarak has clinically died after arriving to the Maadi Military Hospital in South Cairo, state-run news agency MENA reported.

MENA quoted official medical sources as saying that his heart stopped beating, and he did not respond after being defibrillated several times.

Clinical death is a medical term for the halt of both blood circulation and breathing after cardiac arrest.

MENA said that Mubarak was taken to the intensive care unit upon his arrival to get treatment for a stroke he had suffered earlier Tuesday. The state-run news agency said the prison’s doctors had failed to treat the stroke.

Al-Ahram reported that journalists were banned from entering the hospital.
Given what he's been through in the last 15 months, this is no surprise.
