A response to a reader who says he still can't vote for Romney

I received an email this evening from a regular, pro-Israel reader who leans Left.
I can't vote for Romney just because Obama is anti-Zionist. Maybe it's time Israel stop worrying so much about the US. Without Israel, where would the US be in the Middle East? The other countries have serious dysfunctional issues.

Israel's government should just declare that Obama is anti-Zionist and let the chips fall where they may. Russia and China don't have a problem voicing their opinions about the US. It's the best thing Bibi could do to throw hurdles into Obama's path.
My response:
Maybe it's time to put the Jewish state ahead of the unrestricted right to murder unborn children.

Maybe it's time to reexamine our priorities.

Maybe it's time to start thinking and stop automatically voting Democratic in every race.
Reminds me of all those people 40 years ago (when I wasn't old enough to vote) who voted for that stinking Arabist George McGovern because they couldn't bring themselves to vote for Nixon. Priorities!

Reminds me of the people 70 years ago who were too interested in FDR that they not only ignored the Holocaust but they CONDEMNED those who spoke up about FDRs indifference.

You know there are big big issues and there are small tangential issues. Israel huge issue!!! Economy and the budget a huge huge issue!!! The military and defense another huge issue.... Social issues are tiny and insignificant.... This goes for both the right and left. You compare both parties in these three large and important areas and there is really 1 choice...the republicans. And to anyone who can't see a difference between the parties...only needs to compare the speeches in the conventions!

The problem is not so much that Obama is anti-zionist. The problem is that he is correspondingly pro-Arabist. He has on his staff an advisor who recommended invading Israel with the US military to force a surrender to the Palestinians.

In any case, he is more that just anti-zionist. He is a totalitarian anti-semite. [But that's just my opinion. Rebbetzin Wasserman-Schultz might disagree.]

Maybe he could vote for Romney since Obama's team sent untracked guns to two sides of a drug cartel war going on in the streets of Mexico. More than 70,000 dead since '06 in Mexico and unsafe disruption on both sides of the border. Hundreds directly connected to the guns sent by the Obama team. Innocents killed and maimed in the crossfire. No go areas emerging along the border.

If you can't bring yourself to care about the next 6 million in Israel, perhaps you care about the slaughter going on next door, made more horrible by these Democrats you want to vote for?

The problem with Obama is that he is universally bad at his job in nearly every dimension. If he were white he'd ranked as the worst President of the last 100 years. But we're never allowed to point that out, are we. I mean seriously, he hasn't even given his speech yet and MSNBC's Chris Matthews has already declared it better than The Sermon on the Mount.
