President 'Cooperation with Israel has never been better' refuses to meet Netanyahu

Despite President Obama's repeated claims that cooperation between the United States and Israel have never been better, the President has refused a request for a meeting from Prime Minister Netanyahu while the latter is in the US for the United Nations General Assembly the week after next.
The White House declined Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's request on Tuesday to meet U.S. President Barack Obama during a UN conference in New York at the end of the month.

...

The White House's response marks a new low in relations between Netanyahu and Obama, underscored by the fact that this is the first time Netanyahu will visit the U.S. as prime minister without meeting Obama.
Israel Radio reports at 10:00 pm that the official excuse is that Obama is too busy. Netanyahu offered to make a special trip to Washington from New York to meet with Obama.

The Romney campaign should be all over this one in 4... 3... 2... 1....

Obama: "But Iā€™m also mindful of the proverb, ā€œA man is judged by his deeds, not his words.ā€ So if you want to know where my heart lies, look no further than what I have done ā€” to stand up for Israel."

Suppose for a moment that Israel could be made to feel so vulnerable that it attacked Iran, knowing full well that America would not support her. Not only would Israel be forced to destroy Iran's nuclear capability, but to defend itself alone no matter what Iran threw at her. Iran, then, might be able to force Israel to use its nuclear weapons to defend itself. What would the consequences be to Israel in the United Nations, in its trade relations, in its image as a state that resorted to force more often than the remainder of the civilized world together. Could that be the goal of President Obama as the quintessential method of isolating and destroying Israel. Such a country that resorted to the use of nuclear weapons surely could not be trusted with them and would need to be disarmed by an international force that would then protect Israel from within reduced borders with an international force. How does that series of events fit the goals of the extreme Left? Mr. Obama has Israel by the back of the neck.

I wouldn't wait for the Romney campaign to be over anything with the necessary passion to make a difference. They are waiting for their inevitable victory because of the recession and don't want to make waves. So far their first wave of TV commercials has been treacle.
