Druze soldier, missing for seven years, found dead

The IDF has confirmed that remains found by a tourist in a forest two weeks ago belong to Majdi Halabi, an IDF soldier who has been missing since 2005.
Halabi disappeared while traveling from his home to his base in Tirat Carmel near Haifa.

He was last seen at a bus station in his hometown Daliyat al-Karmel located on the slopes of the Carmel mountain. He was formally declared missing in action (MIA) on June 6, 2005.

The funeral is set for Friday morning.
Israel Radio reports that a knife was found buried in the tree trunk  on which Halabi's body was found hanging. Sounds like murder, probably terrorism. The IDF has not yet determined how long Halabi has been dead.
