Rockets in Jerusalem

The picture is Jerusalem's 9/11 Memorial just to remind the Americans who your friends are.

As noted earlier, two rockets were shot at Jerusalem on Friday just after sundown. We heard the alarm in our neighborhood - I wasn't in synagogue yet, but my sons said that they stopped the Welcoming the Sabbath service for a minute and debated whether to move elsewhere. I was still at home and we went into our sealed room for a few minutes. But no one really expected rockets to hit here and everyone was pretty calm. As it turns out, they didn't hit here (there were rumors during the Sabbath that they hit one of the cities southern neighborhoods, but those rumors are apparently false), but they didn't hit too far away.
Two rockets landed outside of Jerusalem Friday evening as sirens rang out, causing no injuries or damage. Police reported there was "no indication" that rockets landed in the city, stating that "most likely, the rockets landed in an open area outside of Jerusalem."
Hamas took credit for the attack, claiming to have shot "an improved Kassam," which it called an M-75, towards Jerusalem. The launch represents the first Hamas rocket attack aimed at Jerusalem.
A rocket is believed to have fallen in the Judean desert, near the area of Takua, though this is not yet certain. Police confirmed one rocket landed in Gush Etzion.
The cabinet is due to meet this evening to authorize a ground operation. The opposition is demanding an 'exit strategy' to ensure that Hamas lives to fight another day (the only way this will end is if the army reoccupies Gaza - at least temporarily - like they did with the 'Palestinian' cities in Judea and Samaria in Operation Defensive Shield in 2003).

Carl,

I find it quite interesting that they are firing rockets in the general direction of that which is purportedly the third holiest site of Islam (except when Qom is the third holiest site in Shiite Islam). It says quite a bit about what they actually believe.
