Iran endorses Hagel

It probably goes without saying that Iran is thrilled with the prospect of anti-Israel (their description) Chuck Hagel becoming US Secretary of Defense (Hat Tip: Memeorandum).
Pundits believe that appointment of Hagel could spark tensions between Washington and Tel Aviv, but they predict no considerable trouble in his confirmation process in the Congress as he enjoys a bipartisan support.
Sadly, that's probably true. The old boys network is likely to hold up for Hagel like it does for every other Senator.

Curiously, the report doesn't mention Hagel's opposition to sanctions against Iran, although it does mention his opposition to striking Iran.

What could go wrong?

Charles Hagel as SecDef, an awful choice but not quite as ridiculous as John Kerry as SecState.

Coming soon..."Rev" Jeremiah Wright as Presidential Consigliere.
