Save Hamas - the alternative may be worse?

Retiring US Defense Intelligence Agency (were they group behind the bogus National Intelligence Estimate on Iran?) director Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn urges Israel not to destroy Hamas because what follows could be worse.
Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, the outgoing head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, disparaged Hamas for exhausting finite resources and know-how to build tunnels that have been used to attack Israelis. Still, he suggested that destroying Hamas was not the answer.
"If Hamas were destroyed and gone, we would probably end up with something much worse. The region would end up with something much worse," Flynn said at the Aspen Security Forum in Colorado.
"A worse threat that would come into the sort of ecosystem there … something like ISIS," he added, referring to the Islamic State group, which last month declared an "Islamic caliphate" in territory it controls in Iraq and Syria.
Well, if Israel just destroys Hamas and leaves, yes, that might happen.

And if Israel accepts Flynn's boss' plan for post-Operation Protective Edge Gaza it will happen. .

But if Israel reoccupies and de-Nazifies Gaza, it won't happen.

What could go wrong?

So we destroy Hamas (as we should), and we get "something worse." Well, we'll just deal with that "something worse" just like we deal with Hamas.

Ein b'reira (there is no choice). If we intend to stay in that neighborhood, we must deal with anything that would threaten our existence...
