Israeli and US Left seethe: Boehner invites Netanyahu to address Congress

Mr. Netanyahu is going to Washington.

House Speaker John Boehner (R-In) has invited Prime Minister Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress about Iran sanctions on February 11 'without consulting the White House. '

The American Left is seething due to the 'insult' to President Hussein Obama.

The Israeli Left is seething because we are in the middle of an election campaign. That's not what this is about. If Boehner's goal was to help Netanyahu in the elections, March 11 would have helped a lot more. I think this move is meant to advance the cause of sanctions (and embarrass Obama) and not to advance Netanyahu's reelection campagin (which it obviously won't hurt).

Do you think CNN is seething in this video?

Let's go to the videotape.

Here's the invitation that Boehner sent to Netanyahu. Note that he refers to the 'bipartisan leadership of Congress.'
If the invitation was issued by the 'bipartisan leadership of Congress,' why is it being attributed solely to the Republicans?

Oh yeah - I saw references on Twitter to Netanyahu being only the second foreign leader (other than Winston Churchill) to address a  joint session of Congress. This is Netanyahu's third time (the previous two were in 1996 and 2011). And please don't forget what happened the last time Netanyahu spoke to Congress.
